It is my first...

Paper Bag Album!

I am so excited to show you all.... So lets dive right in... some of my photos are oof (out of focus) pardon that but you will get the jist of it... my mother took them she was playing withe my camera... FAILED! lol

Step 1: Three paper lunch bags rotating the ends so they are opposite

Step 2: Line the bags up and fold them in half.

Step 3: For this album I drew a line and made slits for my ribbon with my craft knife... you can also use a hole punch or there are many types of book/album biding materials that work too.

Here is where the real fun begins!! Decorating your pages. This is the cover of mine I used my colorbox cat's eye ink around the edges and various scraps of paper I had to create my cover. It says first birthday on it but really I am using it to put pictures and little notes and things in about his first year of life!

This is the first set of pages in the album. Unfortunately my pictures were not ready when I was in town earlier today so they will be added later (I may update the post to show you some of them when they are on and in the pockets of the album). The little man take is an additional pocket that I have not finished the item to go in. These Paper bag albums are great as you can keep adding things to them.

These are the tags in the first pocket of the album... the blank one says smash on the back and I am going to be putting a couple pictures of him with his 1st Birthday cake making a complete mess!

This is the second set of pages nothing really special going on here... I have a great black and white pictures coming small enough to go on the page that says baby on it!

This is the 3rd set of pages in the album the colors are so bright and fun I absolutely love it... the star is put on with pop up dots so it is lifted on the page and I cut it out with my craft knife i think it turned out awesome again I am not sure exactly what else I am going to put on here I am thinking a picture of his favorite green teddy... or something along those lines.. yes I create things sometimes without really knowing what I am going to do with it.

This is the 4th set of pages.. I really love it the pocket on the top has a little tag that says " I love you" and then a note I put in there about his nickname... the other side is also an additional pocket and I am going to put some of his milestones in it... when he first rolled over, crawled, took his first steps, etc

These are those tags from inside of that pocket I created...

There is one more set of pages for me to finish, one more pocket of tags, notes, and photo things I have to pull out to show you and the back cover... unfortunately I have a photoshoot to do this evening and will not have time to get it finished... unless I get ambitious when I get home... which is a good possibility. I really want to get this thing done! 

On another note.. I really liked making this paper bag/ mini album and have decided that I will feature at least one a month on my blog... who knows maybe one day one will be a giveaway or something along those lines... we will see... as for the dresser project I was hoping to start today looks like it is getting postponed till tomorrow, the life of having a 1 year old nothing ever works out as friends...

Almost finished yesterday project... but...

In the mean time I had to grab my DSLR and turn it to full auto (I hate that setting), just becuase I didnt have time to figure out all the settings for the lighting in the snow.. and go figure my snow still ended up a little blown out but thats okay... here is why I had the rush!

My little man was on a sled for the first time! It was great he was laughing and giggling and having a great time.. now before anyone jumps on me for him being on sled no helmet and all that the sled was not moving, Caleb's Papa was just sitting on it with him and revving it a bit and he loved it...

Sorry again about the quality of the photo's, I am way better then that but these were snapshots so its all good.

Taking a break from my project today...

Which by the way I am bouncing off the walls to share!!! But you will have to wait and see I should have it finished tomorrow... and yes it is a scrapbooking project... which leads me to why I am posting at the moment... BESIDES that I needed a little break from staring at paper paper and more paper I figured I would take the opportunity to post some of the pages I have done in the past considering that my scrapbooks are currently in about a MILLION pieces... I should really put them back together one of these days... anyway onto the pictures here are some of my past layouts... hope you enjoy.

These all feature my son, Caleb, of course because I don't scrapbooking anything more then I do him, you will get to see lots of him!

One of my favorites of him... the leggo layout... I don't know who has seen or has this paper but the leggo tops actually pop slightly out of the paper it is so fun... if anyone is interested in any of the wording on my pages let me know and I can pass them along this one is not journaling it is actually a poem.

One of my autumn layouts, I must have shook my T1I while taking this picture sorry about the fuzzyness, on a plus note all of these photos were taken by me, with my old sony point and shoot, its not always about the gear and the cost of your equipment more about if you know how to use it or now, that being said I would never give up my new camera for a point and shoot again. 

This was a trip to British Columbia and back to Saskatchewan that my son and I went on this summer, he was such a great little traveler. 

This is in the top 5 of my favorite layouts, I love Baby Feet and the water he is standing in just made it that much more special, and the face on the first page is priceless.

Well that is all for right now, guess it is time to get back to my project at hand, I will be back either later tonight or tomorrow depending on when I get this finished. Have a wonderful Friday. 

Friday...

So Friday has come at last.... no actual work for me today has the daycare lady has that narsty flu that has been going around... So what is there for me to do today.... my son will be going for a nap soon... my niece is not around today for me to dress up and take pictures of some of the hair accessories I have been working on... my sewing machine finally bit the dust... which really SUCKS because I have material all cut and ready to go to make some things I have been wanting to try and post on here... one more week and I will have my new one thank goodness I think I am starting to go through withdrawl here... I guess that leaves me with only one option back to hair accessories to make... hmm where to start today.... I will be back later to show what I have come up with...

Oh ya... and oooOOOoooOOO so excited to start my first large project for my blog... I bought a dresser made of solid wood *YAY* for 35 dollars for my son... it is currently white but just you wait and see what it will be when I am done....... I will be starting on that tomorrow so give me a few days and it should be up here for your criticism.
